There is an interesting trilogy of articles on conscience and ethical behavior from Todd Essig at Forbes. The third takes a thought-provoking slant on the issue raised in my recent editorial on the ethics of torture. Namely, Essig argues that resigning from an institution due to unethical policies (in the case of his and my articles, the APA) ultimately causes more harm than good, as it removes objectors from any position of affecting change within the institution.
