Hank Campbell writes an interesting piece on the evolving territorial wars of “hard” versus “soft” scientists. Is psychology a science, or are psychological orientations better described as hermeneutics, philosophies, points of subjective inquiry? I have always found it difficult to understand why the vaulted label of “science” need be an all-or-nothing proposition. Psychology is, at times, a scientific discipline, while at other times it is not. Who says we have to draw a line in the sand?
